We aim to begin the Best in Show panel as soon as possible after the preliminary judging concludes, on Saturday following the anniversary cake and coffee. The exact time will be announced separately. On Saturday, our show will feature the British Shorthair Breed BIS in collaboration with Suomen Brittikissat ry, and we will also present the winners of ISROK’s Cat of the Year competition.

Cats not participating in the Best in Show panel will be permitted to leave early on Sunday once the preliminary judging and public opening hours have concluded. The exact time will be announced separately. On Saturday, we will celebrate the club’s anniversary with coffee and cake as well as the BSH/BSL Breed BIS, during which early departure will not be permitted.

General details of the show

The show is a so-called traditional show, where all breeds are judged on both Saturday and Sunday. Competition classes 1–17 will be held on both days. The BSH/BSL Breed BIS will be held on Saturday.

The show will be held at Saimaa Stadium, located at Raviradantie 22 B, 50100 Mikkeli. There is a large area of free parking available in front of the stadium. The entrance is through the main doors. Access to the hall is barrier-free. A floor plan of the hall can be found at the end of this information letter.

Registration and veterinary check will be open on Saturday from 8:00 to 9:30 and on Sunday from 7:30 to 8:30. All cats will have their vaccinations and other required certificates checked upon entry. Veterinary checks will be conducted on a random basis.

Please note that in order to participate in our show, the latest possible date for a cat’s FVRCP combination vaccine against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia is April 10, 2026, if you are participating on Saturday, and April 11, 2026, if you are participating only on Sunday. See the detailed guidelines published by Suomen Kissaliitto regarding vaccinations for show cats here (in Finnish). Please note the different rules for rabies vaccine.

A free digital show catalogue in Finnish will be published on Saturday morning at: https://isrok.fi/nayttelyluettelo_juhlanayttely2026/ (the link will not be active until Saturday morning). Pre-ordered printed catalogues can be picked up at the rosette table upon presentation of your name.

Our show welcomes the following judge students: Josefiina Huhta-aho in category 2, Siemen Overboom in category 4, Sanna-Leena Santapakka in category 4, and Riikka Turpeinen in category 3.

On Saturday, there will be a toy cat competition for the youngest members of the family. All participants will receive a prize. Registration for the competition takes place at the ticket booth.

The Junior Handler competition takes place on Sunday and is open to children aged 7–14. There is a separate registration for the competition at the rosette table. Participation costs 5€ per person, and all participants will receive certificates and rosettes.

Exhibitors can visit Bistro Sisu at Saimaa Stadium, which will serve coffee and snacks as well as a delicious lunch on both days.

Please note that smoking is permitted outdoors only in the designated area. Please do not leave cigarette butts on the ground!

Hygiene and Cat Health

During the winter, a contagious stomach illness has been spreading among cats, manifesting as loss of appetite, vomiting, and/or diarrhea. Please do not bring a sick cat to the show!

In addition, we have stepped up hygiene measures at the show:

  • At our show, we are using a new, more effective TECcare disinfectant to sanitize the judges’ tables between cats.
  • To help prevent the spread of germs, you may bring your cat’s own toy/teaser for the judge to use during the judging. Disposable small teasers are also provided on the judges’ tables.
  • The cage tables and cages are disinfected according to the standard procedure the night before using Virkon-S disinfectant.
  • Each row of cages also has a supply of Virkon-S disinfectant in spray bottles, which we recommend you use to disinfect your cage area as needed.
  • If you are only attending our show on Saturday, please clean up any trash and cat litter from your cage area and disinfect the spot using the provided Virkon-S spray bottle.

Cage Assignments

Cage assignments for this show are numbered. Cats belonging to the same owner/entrant will automatically be placed next to each other. Cage assignment requests entered on the Omakissa system’s entry form during registration will also be automatically taken into account. Please submit any other cage location requests to the show manager (jonna.varhama@isrok.fi) by Friday, April 17, at the latest. Requests received after this deadline cannot be accommodated. The cage map will be published the week before the show.

Please avoid grooming your cat at the cage area. We ask for your special attention to ensure that cat hair and litter do not end up on the floor.

Please remember to pick up any trash from your cage area at the end of the show day. Please place empty soft drink bottles and cans in the bottle boxes next to the trash bins. The buckets are for emptying the cats’ water bowls.

Certificates, rosettes, and awards

Certificates can be collected from a separate table located next to the secretariat.

BIS, NOM, and BIV awards are included in the show entry fee. Title and certificate rosettes cost 5€ each. In addition, the club offers a beautiful diploma to all Kitten Champions and Junior Champions who qualify at our show, as well as Mionetto champagne glasses to all Supreme Champions and Supreme Premiers who qualify at our show. We prefer card payments for rosette and raffle table purchases.

Our show offers a great selection of vendors: V.I.Pet, Kasside Ilusalong, aCat & liCat, Kuarina Handmade, Pilpo, Brittikissat (Saturday only), Rex-kissa ystävät, and Somakiss, as well as the Mikkeli Animal Welfare Association, which gladly accepts product donations. Our exhibition also features a photo wall by our main sponsor, Best Friend & Bilanx cat food, which we encourage you to use as a backdrop for stunning show photos.

Welcome to Mikkeli!
